The popularity table for Ines previously showed Portugal (INE) rank #4 for the most recently published year. This was incorrect. The INE Portugal data for 2024 shows Inês as the most popular girls' name in Portugal, ranked #1. The entry has been updated to reflect the correct rank.

Ines — duplicate entry merged; namesakes and sources consolidated
The name Ines had been entered twice in our data source under the same key. The two entries carried partially different content: the first (French-context) entry included the namesake Inès de la Fressange (French model) and a note about Inés Sáenz; the second (Portuguese-context) entry included Inês Castel-Branco (actress) and corrected the Portuguese rank. Because JavaScript object keys are unique, the second entry silently overwrote the first — causing the French namesakes and the older French-sourced content to be discarded without visibility.
The entries have been merged into a single authoritative record. The consolidated entry includes all three namesakes (Inês de Castro, Inès de la Fressange, and Inês Castel-Branco), all three source URLs (INE Portugal, INE Spain, INSEE France), and a combined pronunciation note covering French, Spanish and Portuguese variants.
