Finn
FIN /fɪn/
Meaning of Finn
Finn has two distinct origins. In Irish tradition it is an anglicisation of Fionn, meaning 'fair' or 'white' — as in the legendary hero Fionn mac Cumhaill ('Finn McCool'). In Old Norse, Finn means 'a person from Finland' or more broadly 'a Saami person.' Both origins are active in modern use, though the Irish-heroic meaning dominates in English-speaking countries. The name has risen sharply in Germany since the 2000s.
