Freya
FRAY-uh /ˈfreɪ.ə/
Meaning of Freya
Freya (Old Norse: Freyja) comes from the Proto-Germanic frawjō — 'lady,' 'noble woman' or 'mistress.' In Norse mythology, Freyja is the goddess of love, fertility, war and death — the most important female deity in the Norse pantheon, associated with gold, cats and the Valkyries. As an English given name it entered from Scandinavian influence in the late 20th century and has been in the UK top-20 since 2010.
